Razors Edge ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2021 With 10 being the absolute highest, I put the importance of my health, staying healthy, and pursuing health in the high 8/low 9 range. With my top spot (the "10") of family/loved ones being about the only thing that currently takes precedence or holds greater importance to me. There could be a time where other things edge ahead, but right now, my health is very very important to me. How about y'all?
jsharr ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 10, 2021 Sadly not that high. Sometimes I wonder how much longer I have to shuffle around on this mortal coil.

It's scary thinking the timer is now counting down instead of up.

Square Wheels Posted February 10, 2021 Share #5 Posted February 10, 2021 Close to a 10. I try to eat good food, though I eat too much. I exercise regularly. I meditate regularly. I did yoga when it was available. I rarely drink. I've never smoked. I've never done drugs not prescribed by a doc. My mental health is what I struggle with most.
12string Posted February 10, 2021 Share #6 Posted February 10, 2021 I put it right behind my math importance, so about 14 1
Zephyr Posted February 10, 2021 Share #7 Posted February 10, 2021 Right now it is about a nine, simply because I need to pass annual physicals to keep doing the jon I love doing. Once I retire or get washed out, it will probably go down to a 7 or 7.5.

ChrisL Posted February 10, 2021 Share #9 Posted February 10, 2021 Probably an 8-9. Being diabetic I really can’t let it slide too far down the priority list. Shit yesterday I got a hair up my arse and binged on a bunch of candy and this morning my BG jumped 70 points... Yeah dummy completely self inflicted & back on track today. I don’t always do what’s best for my health, but I’ve started identifying it’s importance waaaaay up there in my priorities after taking it for granted for awhile. Longjohn ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #12 Posted February 10, 2021 Mine dropped when I started being my wife’s full time caregiver. It was always about a nine now taking care of my wife comes first. Maybe it dropped to a six or seven.
petitepedal ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #13 Posted February 10, 2021 Given my family history..it has been a priority...
Kirby Posted February 10, 2021 Share #14 Posted February 10, 2021 Probably a 6 or 7 until something goes wrong, then it's a 9 or 10. When things are going well, work gets in the way of a lot of health goals, but it's something that will get more focus when I retire.
Ralphie ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #15 Posted February 10, 2021 I really struggle with properly prioritizing it. My lifestyle sucks with a desk job and long commute. So add in my wife cooking hearty foods and me being basically lazy and my metabolism slowing down with age and it is an uphill battle.
shootingstar Posted February 11, 2021 Share #16 Posted February 11, 2021 Probably in past wks., it's at an 8.5..I haven't been exercising much or at all...it's been so damn cold...-28degrees C (wind chill -40 degrees C). I eat healthy ok, not perfect but ok. Normally it's around 9. I have to make my health as a priority..it's survival right now...just like everyone else. BR46 Posted February 11, 2021 Share #17 Posted February 11, 2021 9.9 and 3/4 I'm doing everything I can to keep my A1c down. Racing starts in a few weeks and losing a few pounds is cheaper than buying more hp.
MickinMD ★ Posted February 11, 2021 Share #18 Posted February 11, 2021 I've been working on my diet and getting more exercise, but there's still enough room for improvement that I can't give myself more than a 7 for health. I hope it's closer to a 9 within a year.

Yeah - this is the big challenge most of us face (except Zephyr). Work and/or home life makes us hope to catch up in retirement but in reality, waiting until retirement to get going on this is starting late in the game Damn work getting in the way of everything!

I used to know a guy who went by the name Doc, he could hook you up with any drugs you wanted🙂
