Kirby Posted April 1, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2022 Suppose it's your birthday and you were invited to a friend's house for a birthday celebration. Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted April 1, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2022 I would go with seafood. First choice would be Maryland blue crabs. XL jimmies steamed with Old Bay. Side of corn and hush puppies and sliced tomatoes with cold beer.

shootingstar Posted April 1, 2022 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2022 This was dearie's last birthday meal that he prepped for me. It was 6 courses: Six Courses for Over Six Decades – Cycle Write Blog (wordpress.com) I had no idea what he had planned but he did bring fresh seafood with him, when coming in from Vancouver. It's only 1 hr. plane ride.. I was at work, when he was prepping and also bought the birthday cake. This blog post was actually entered into court documents....it does have a hard date, indisputable date which the date /time period matches my birth date and photographic evidence. I have to say I'm so happy I have photos of this key event graced by dearie's concoctions and his presence. One day you WILL look back on some key meals with special people in your life...if not already. I don't remember the dishes of last family meal with my father before he deteriorated from chemotherapy treatments a few months later, then passed away. But I remember all of us enjoying the time and yes, we have the photos.

Dearie's last b-day meal for me the dishes included: smoked tuna loin, salmon fillet, scallops dish, lobster bisque...he made his own spaetzle with all this with white sauce and green peas. We shared a bottle of red French wine that I had bought 3 years before on a cycling trip we went together in Burgundy region of France. Ok....it's hard for me to forget dearie. But it is all happy memories. 3

ChrisL Posted April 1, 2022 Share #15 Posted April 1, 2022 My first choice would probably be coppino. A nice thick pork chop is always welcomed too.

Local asparagus is just wonderful. For whatever reasons, traditional Germans go crazy over white asparagus. I never could figure out what was so lovely about white asparagus in taste. Anyway's dearie's birth region has annual white asparagus festival. bikeman564™ Posted April 1, 2022 Share #17 Posted April 1, 2022 When my birthday comes around my Mom always asks me if I'd like to go out, or come over for dinner. I always choose the latter. My favorite thing to pick is ribs on the BBQ. My step-dad has it down. So delicious. I can't remember ever having ribs better than his BBQ ones. Then we sit around and have a few beers and hang oot.

Zephyr Posted April 1, 2022 Share #26 Posted April 1, 2022 For me depends on the friend. Truth be told, I would be more likely to make my own meal and invite them to join me because I enjoy my own food more than most of what my friends have made for me in the past
BuffJim Posted April 1, 2022 Share #27 Posted April 1, 2022 Lately we’ve been doing dinner at an Italian restaurant I enjoy. Nice pasta dinner with wine and dessert. Not sure what we’re planning this year. We’ll be driving back from vacation this year in Charleston WV on my birthday, so BuffCarla and I will look for a nice place.
