Some Old Guy Posted February 10, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2021 I eat cereal with milk every morning. It is primarily the reason I am so funny. Cereal makes you happy and, as a result, it keeps you on the sunny side of life. I eat various brands and types, but this one is my favorite, unless I am eating a different one; then that one is my favorite. It is heart healthy and an excellent source of fiber. 3
Razors Edge ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 10, 2021 Cap'n Crunch. Arguably the best cereal ever. I'm okay with most cereal though. Fruity Pebbles, Fruit Loops, Honey Nut Cheerios, etc.. 3
maddmaxx ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 10, 2021 Post Great Grains, usually the Raisins Dates and Pecans flavor. Probably the best nutrition and lowest bad sugars that still tastes ok.
Zephyr Posted February 10, 2021 Share #4 Posted February 10, 2021 I eat cereal maybe once every two weeks on a Saturday morning. It is either Shreddies of Raisin Bran
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #5 Posted February 10, 2021 Too much sugar for me. The only cereal I eat is Bob’s Red Mill steel cut oats. Add some craisins and almonds when I add the oats and it all cooks up in 10 minutes. A splash of 1% and I’m done. That or scrambled eggs of some type. ChrisL Posted February 10, 2021 Share #6 Posted February 10, 2021 I rarely eat cereal but every once in a while I get a hankering for Honey Bunches of Oats and I let the milk sit in it for 10-15 minutes so it’s like mush. Sometimes I cook a bowl of plain oatmeal, then hit it with extra milk & then mix in Honey Bunches of Oats & then let it cook a bit longer so it’s soft. Kzoo Posted February 10, 2021 Share #7 Posted February 10, 2021 Kelloggs Raisin Bran Crunch is my go to right now. My backup is Honey Nut Cheerios.

Kirby Posted February 10, 2021 Share #13 Posted February 10, 2021 I haven't had cereal for some time, but when I do, my favorite is Grain Berry Toasted Oats with berries or bananas and almond milk.

Ralphie ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #15 Posted February 10, 2021 This is a good thread. My wife bought a bigass box of cornflakes and they are siriusly boring and unsatisfying. I cut them half and half with fake Cheerios and they are STILL boring! This is a COVID symptom of having my wife do all the shopping.
dinneR ★ Posted February 10, 2021 Share #16 Posted February 10, 2021 I don't eat much cereal, but when I do I like Grape Nuts or Barbara's Shredded Spoonfuls. I use oatmilk instead of real milk.
MickinMD ★ Posted February 11, 2021 Share #17 Posted February 11, 2021 My two favorites, both around 4% sugar. The Honey Oat cereal is the Harris-Teeter store brand. Most cereals today are 25% or more sugar. 1

Can that be right? I thought they were pretty )(*()&^% tasteless! Kellog's corn flakes are 2%. This totally 'splains the lack of pizazz!
Tizeye Posted February 11, 2021 Share #20 Posted February 11, 2021 Cherrios...original and multi-grain. Did like the Honey Nut, but just got to be too sweet Wife's preference is raisin bran. For hot cereal, oatmeal with brown sugar. I tend to put a dab of milk in with the oatmeal, but not much.
Some Old Guy Posted February 11, 2021 Author Share #21 Posted February 11, 2021 I'm also a big fan of the Kashi Go Lean cereals, especially the Toasted Berry version.

I must have got a bad batch, because (apologies to Kirby!) it tasted like decades-old cardboard that had been stuffed with kiln-dried, forest-floor sawdust from a sumac tree. I put what I couldn't eat outside where I thought the squirrels and chipmunks would eat it. They tried it, thought I was trying to poison them, and they threw it all back at the house. Broke two windows, they did.
Tizeye Posted February 11, 2021 Share #23 Posted February 11, 2021 Taste like wild hickory nuts... Actually, the reason I buy Grape-Nuts is to make muffins that have been making since my adolescence. Recipe originally printed on the box but ingredients combine with orange juice and orange rind. There are other variations, but like that one the best. But then, only takes one cup of Grape-Nuts...so have to finish the box somehow. Ralphie ★ Posted February 11, 2021 Share #24 Posted February 11, 2021 I never understood grape nuts. They taste like rocks or at best grape seeds. Yuck! Who eats those!?
donkpow Posted February 11, 2021 Share #25 Posted February 11, 2021 I am pretty much exclusively into heated oatmeal cereal, daily. I buy this stuff in 55 gallon drums.
BR46 Posted February 11, 2021 Share #26 Posted February 11, 2021 I very seldom eat cereal because of the amount of carbohydrates and sugar that is in one serving of the stuff. About the only time I will eat cereals is when we are at the race track because it's quick and then I will try to keep it to the actual serving size witch suck because there are some cereals that I like.
