Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted October 31, 2016 Share #6 Posted October 31, 2016 Sorry to her that, he is a young man. I'm glad his recovery is going well. I left Ohio just in time. On the court we lived on, one neighbor died of a heart attack at 49. The guy across the street (53) went in for a stress test and they found blockage in three arteries, he received three stents that day. I just learned that my next door neighbor there (63) had 95% blockage in his left anterior descending artery, aka the widow maker. Three out of five houses on the court had coronary incidents in 2016.

UglyBob Posted October 31, 2016 Share #10 Posted October 31, 2016 Glad he's doing ok. As the owner of four stents, I can tell you they are a miracle of modern science. So much better recovery than a bypass and you can go on living like nothing happened, depending on how much, if any, damage the MI caused.

Do you know when it first happened, BuffJim? About 4:30 yesterday afternoon. He was on a helicopter in less than an hour. Pretty cool how quickly they got him to the right hospital. His color is good and he's wicked bored right now. Spirits are good. Wants to go home. We're about to head out to hang with him. He's supposed to be moving out of ICU some time today.

Further Posted December 23, 2018 Share #40 Posted December 23, 2018 My dad died from a heart attack at 48. From what I've heard about him he didn't have a healthy lifestyle. High stress job, chain smoker & a fair amount of alcohol. My brother is 80+ and has a healthy heart, so I've got that going for me.
