airinpie Posted September 27, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2017 I made really cool costumes for two years that most people didn't understand. This year I'm wearing a cute Halloween outfit, but not technically a costume. I did get a purple wig though, and it's bitchin'

UglyBob Posted September 27, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 27, 2017 There's a Halloween themed cocktail reception at the writer's conference I'll be at the last weekend in October. We're supposed to dress as our favorite book character or author. I have no idea what to do. I might be able to pull off Hemingway, but I was thinking maybe Pennywise. I'm sure there will be people there who are freaked out by clowns . . . especially psychotic ones.
Some Old Guy Posted September 27, 2017 Share #4 Posted September 27, 2017 I'm scary enough as I am. No need to go overboard. 2 1
Popular Post Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted September 27, 2017 Popular Post Share #5 Posted September 27, 2017 Normally I just take the cheap route by cutting a couple of eye holes in a paper bag and dropping it over my head. One year I decided it wasn't worth the cost of ruining a good paper bag, and just started handing out the candy to the kiddies as usual. A little while later the nice policeman came by. He told me I was scaring the kids and I had to put the bag back on. 1 1
Wilbur ★ Posted September 27, 2017 Share #6 Posted September 27, 2017 No. I have to wear a costume to work so I get tired of it.
maddmaxx ★ Posted September 27, 2017 Share #7 Posted September 27, 2017 I don't but womaxx loves the Halloween atmosphere. Unfortunately for here we live just far enough into the woods that our turnout might be less than 10 kids some years.
Longjohn ★ Posted September 27, 2017 Share #8 Posted September 27, 2017 I dressed up a couple times a on Halloween for work. A lot of people that work retail do that. I was the only one in the forge shop to do that.

Shirley kids who walk into the woods on Halloween just for some poxy sweets need the sheot scaring out of them in a Scooby Doo kind of way. 2Far ★ Posted September 27, 2017 Share #14 Posted September 27, 2017 Not since I went to a party as a California Raisin. It was a great party, the hosts were really into Halloween. They had a real coffin as the beer cooler.
Parr8hed Posted September 27, 2017 Share #15 Posted September 27, 2017 I will be dressed up at the campground the weekend before Halloween. That's a big deal. People decorate their campers and everything. Prob will not do it at my house.

Zephyr Posted September 27, 2017 Share #19 Posted September 27, 2017 My wife and I still have out wicked "Batman and Robin" costumes we made from years ago. Cool "Adam West" style, costumes as opposed to 'dark psychotic Batman' costumes. But we have not been to a costume party in a few years. I want her to dress as Lucy in a blue dress, (she has the height and hair to pull it off) and I want to make a Charlie Brown shirt, shave my head and draw the squiggle on the front. and back. She said 'No"
ChrisL Posted September 27, 2017 Share #20 Posted September 27, 2017 My wife isn't really into the costume thing but her office gets into it every year and since there is only 15 of them she feels obligated to go along with it as she doesn't want to be the party pooper. We took our kids out for years and then manned the door when our kids got too old so we really don't get into the dress up aspect of it but we enjoy seeing the kids all dressed up.
