Last time in Ohio, I had frozen lasagna that was exceedingly wonderful, and then I had it again. Stouffer's classic meat sauce lasagna. I bought some because I miss my parents, but I paid a dear price for it. I decided to try Trader Joe's lasagna because it was a good deal. It is not the same, although I thought it tasted like most lasagna out there. The end.

ChrisL Posted June 11, 2019 Share #7 Posted June 11, 2019 Yeah for sure, I could go for some right about now. I also agree with @BuffJim in that ravioli is the knees bees. I love all pasta and tomato based sauces but it doesn’t love me...?
petitepedal ★ Posted June 11, 2019 Share #8 Posted June 11, 2019 I make my own Lasagna..a variation on my momma's recipe I might make it once in the fall or winter and freeze single servings...It is also my go to meal when I host a church dinner...easy peasy..all the prep can be done way before... Stouffer’s is actually pretty good for mass produced food. I think they have a white one that I liked, but I haven’t had it in a decade or two. Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted June 11, 2019 Share #15 Posted June 11, 2019 Not overly excited. I like lasagna and prefer it homemade over the frozen variety. Wo7 is a Stouffers fan; just one more thing we disagree on.

MickinMD ★ Posted June 11, 2019 Share #22 Posted June 11, 2019 YES. I make an excellent one from scratch using the traditional noodles. Some of the frozen ones are pretty good, too. I always have an 18 oz. Stauffer's Meat Lovers Lasagna ($2.92 at Walmart) in my freezer for days when I'm too tired to cook.

My mom was such a great cook that was never an issue in our house! I tailored the menu to what I knew the kids liked and would eat. I was the cook and I made healthy stuff so I wasn’t about to have food wars with my kids by forcing liver or brussel sprouts on them.

Last year my wife and I went out to dinner and she got the eggplant lasagna, lots of layers of really thin sliced eggplant. Whatever seafood-and-pasta I ordered, I wished I'd ordered that lasagna instead. Even with pasta I prefer lasagna to be full of veggies. 1
