Popular Post Digital_photog ★ Posted October 16, 2023 Popular Post Share #1 Posted October 16, 2023 Had to put Coco down this morning. She has been going backward for several weeks but with a change of food and care seemed to be getting better the last week or so. We still knew it wouldn't be long but yesterday morning she went out to go to the bathroom and seemed to be doing real well. She got out then collapsed and never could get up again. We would try to help her stand but she couldn't . We decided to have it done by the pond where she spent so much time swimming, playing and training with the sled dogs. She laid on the seat next to me looking out with her tail wagging all the time. She couldn't move but was real excited to be at the pond. Marsh Mutts Sweet Chocolate "Coco" March 3, 2011 - October 16, 2023 First lead dog on our current team. Ran lead and trained out other leaders till February 2022. She is buried next to the pond where she spent so much time playing, swimming, retrieving and training the sled dogs. 13

Ralphie ★ Posted October 17, 2023 Share #19 Posted October 17, 2023 Sorry. That was a very thoughtful way to say goodbye to her. Airehead is right, a dog’s life is always too quick to go by.

My sister had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. a male but similar to the English Springer Spaniel owned by the Disney artist who created Lady of Lady and the Tramp. One night Bailey, who had been going downhill for some time, couldn't move but didn't appear to be in pain. My sister sat him on her lap and comforted him through the night while watching TV. He died before dawn.
