It’s like a previous life, memories of you and Hank from years ago in the previous forum. I’m sad about his passing, but it’s kind of good to hear from you again.

Couch told me about AWWC this afternoon.  Reading through this, I am in tears.  Hank and I talked on the phone several times.  Usually, it was when we were planning on doing something stupid to either jsharr or couch.  My favorite was when we convinced Couch that Ray from Maple followed him from another forum to was going to release the internet police on him.  

Count me in if we are doing anything as a group.

(If you are reading this, sorry Couch. I never told you because you sounded so worried.)

Wolfpack contacted me with this very sad news. I knew Hank from the other forum back in the day. He was such a nice person and very kind to me over there.  My sincerest condolences to all of you who were his friends.

AWWC  Hank was a big part of the culture and vibrancy of this community. With family of mine in Greenville I just took it for granted that I would finally meet him some day. He will be sorely missed.

I was really busy today & read through the posts but really had to process my feelings on his passing before posting.

Being somewhat of a newbie I didn’t interact much with Hank so didn’t have the connection with him many of you did.   We did have one off line communication where he apologized to me for a post he made that rubbed me the wrong way. I think I just didn’t understand his humor but I did appreciate his reaching out and told him so & that we were good.  It was a classy move by a classy guy. 

I’m afraid this place just won’t be the same but we will always have fond memories of Hanks contributions here.

His job was stressful and he had to work a lot of overtime. He told me he was thinking about quitting and opening another flooring store but not do the installing, hire people to do that.

I thought he was a she at first and then for a long time I didn’t know what he was. Always talking about how much he liked casement windows and tasteful skirt and modest blouse threads. He didn’t seem to have a man card but I think he was mostly playing us.

He was so quirky, but such a wonderful man.  I'm so very glad that I was able to meet him back in 2009, the day after I had just completed the Assault on Mt Mitchell.  He was SO good to my Dad and I am forever thankful & blessed that I had him in my life during that time.  I'm so glad that I kept in touch with him throughout the years after my Dad passed and especially that I got to see him in April of last year.  So genuine, thoughtful, caring.  Smart man too - great advice/thoughts/suggestions as I pursued buying land in the mountains of NC and building a house.

Love you Cheesenips & gonna miss you terribly.

Leather is supposed to be a hobby.   I am one of the only people in the area that repairs horse tack and saddles though so word gets around.

I never thought he was a she, he just had varied interests, at least the ones he let on about.  For your question, I presumed that, based on his profession's membership composition and the state's general inclination, that he was not.  I don't know for sure at all (just a guess), and it doesn't matter now.  I wish he had better luck, you don't know when you can just get dealt a really bad hand with covid.  I am profoundly sad and gutted and am having a hard time thinking about work.
