BuffJim Posted October 14, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2023 What’s yours? I mostly wear baseball hats, but would love to own another Irish hat. Had once years ago, and left it somewhere. https://www.bostonscally.com/collections/all/products/the-eire-boston-scally-cap

Popular Post Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted October 14, 2023 Popular Post Share #4 Posted October 14, 2023 I have a lot of baseball caps. Knit hats for winter, and fedoras for looking snazzy. But my favorite is a green brushed wool Tyrolean hat my Dad bought in Switzerland. 3 1
Ralphie ★ Posted October 14, 2023 Share #5 Posted October 14, 2023 I like a non-descript baseball cap from a long ago defunct company. It is a medium blue and gray in muted shades. I have a Panama Jack one for better sun protection. I was always very anti-hat but now I almost always wear one when ootside for sun protection. 3
UglyBob Posted October 14, 2023 Share #6 Posted October 14, 2023 My favorite is my bowler. I don't wear it often (only to writing conferences), but it's still my favorite. The one I wear the most is a trucker style I got at Sockeye Cycles in Skagway, Alaska. 2

Long sleeves I can see!
sheep_herder ★ Posted October 14, 2023 Share #8 Posted October 14, 2023 Cap from a dog trial, with a photo I took at an earlier local trial. The lady gave me several for using the photo. Think I have one good one left. The rest are filthy from sweat and dust. I wash them, but they only last so long. 1

Kzoo Posted October 14, 2023 Share #14 Posted October 14, 2023 Baseball cap. I have several as every man should. I have good baseball caps, around the house baseball caps, and work and get dirty baseball caps. I'm currently wearing a green work and get dirty Carhart cap. I'm headed to Lowe's in a few minutes. I'll change out my cap. 1

We have hats like this for hiking. Helps with the sun, and it's a sweat band too. At the outdoor shooting range, I wear different baseball caps. When your neighbor is shooting, sometimes the hot brass ejected from the neighbor's pistol can hit you. The cap keeps the brass from getting between your safety glasses and you eyes. When it's cold a hat for warmth like this. 1

jdc2000 Posted October 15, 2023 Share #17 Posted October 15, 2023 Generally a baseball cap or cycling cap. The one below would be good also.
groupw Posted October 15, 2023 Share #18 Posted October 15, 2023 I started wearing bucket hats on my walks after surgery. Protected my ears better than baseball caps. Mine are microfiber ones from Costco. Very comfortable. I have a straw fedora-like hat I like. Several baseball caps.

My baseball caps are: Columbia Fireflies (of course), Hickory Crawdads, and Rocket City Trash Pandas I also have a pith helmet that actually gets soaked and worn when I'm cutting grass and it's over 100º 2
BuffJim Posted October 15, 2023 Author Share #20 Posted October 15, 2023 I would have to think @jsharr and @KrAzY and maybe even @JsharrsDisgruntledAunt own Cowboy hats. Hopefully classier than this one?

MickinMD ★ Posted October 15, 2023 Share #24 Posted October 15, 2023 I'm not a big hat wearer, but I got this one to keep the Sun out of my eyes while walking trails, mowing the lawn, etc., with a chin strap to keep it on my head when the wind blows. I like it a lot unless it's windy (like today), when my favorite is the one at bottom. When it's windy or when I'm sticking my head between 3-feet-apart tomato plants, I wear this one I got from Temu, which also has a chin strap like the one above, with the smaller brim that can be snapped up on each side: 1

shootingstar Posted October 28, 2023 Share #31 Posted October 28, 2023 a bike helmet, several different wool toques in winter..depending on temps. I know this sound so ordinary....but keep in mind, in non-cycling circles, the bike helmet is seen as radical to other groups with different interests, habits a bike helmet is far less normal in majority female groups over age 60, even over age 50. I have hat for hiking which I wear only 10% annually.
