Kirby Posted September 8, 2021 Share #7 Posted September 8, 2021 For traditional lunch sandwiches, either mozzarella, tomato and red pepper on ciabatta bread or cheddar and tomato. on sourdough or rye. Grilled cheese is also good, I like turkey and chicken and ham as part of a dinner, but I don't really like them in a sandwich.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted September 8, 2021 Share #11 Posted September 8, 2021 Bacon, lettuce, and tomato with Mayo on toasted bread is the world’s best sandwich. A close second is a classic Italian submarine, grinder, hoagie from a real Italian delicatessen. That’s what I had for lunch today. I bought a large Capri at the Italian Store in Arlington on Monday. Half yesterday, second half today. https://www.italianstore.com

ChrisL Posted September 8, 2021 Share #13 Posted September 8, 2021 I generally stay away from sandwiches due to the bread but I love me a Philly cheese steak with peppers & onions. Got hooked on them when I was TDY there for a couple of weeks. A distant second is the Vietnamese Sandwiches with bbq pork. In third would be an egg sammie with bacon & tomato. 1

Zephyr Posted September 8, 2021 Share #16 Posted September 8, 2021 For me, toasted tomato, lettuce and mayo, or a toasted peanut butter and banana. On whole wheat, thick cut bread. But full disclosure, I maybe eat a sandwich once every couple months

shootingstar Posted September 8, 2021 Share #19 Posted September 8, 2021 I just had a reuben sandwich 3 days ago...my lst one in about 3 yrs. It was perfect, not too overloaded with meat, right amount of cheese, sauerkraut, etc. A bison reuben sandwich is wonderful..unfortunately Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park, no longer serves it.

Ralphie ★ Posted September 8, 2021 Share #23 Posted September 8, 2021 This is a toughie. Owl say pepper and egg though, I wanted to say cheese steak with fried onions and hot peppers or Eyetalian or tuna hoagie with sharp provolone. But I stifled myself for some reason. Pepper and egg is tasty!

groupw Posted September 8, 2021 Share #26 Posted September 8, 2021 A BEST (bacon, egg, spinach, tomato) on Asiago cheese bread is hard to beat. A nearby town has a Chipotle roast beef sandwich that is basically an Italian beef sandwich, and one of the best I have had! WoW makes a really good Reuben as long as she goes easy on the 1,000 Island! French Dip and a good Philly are hard to beat for cool weather comfort food!

MickinMD ★ Posted September 9, 2021 Share #34 Posted September 9, 2021 When the mood strikes me, it's usually one of four: Ham or Bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Ham, Roast Beef, and Provolone Cheese. I'm not a major sandwich eater, sometimes I just get 6 slices of each at the deli counter. Tuna Salad (tuna with diced onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, mayo), lettuce and tomato. Meatballs (5 nuked frozen 1/2 oz.), spaghetti sauce (nuked with the meatballs), and shredded sharp cheddar cheese. If sub rolls aren't handy I cut the meatballs in half before putting them on bread
BuffJim Posted September 9, 2021 Share #35 Posted September 9, 2021 Restaurant I used to work at sold a Golden Gobbler sandwich. Turkey, Blue Cheese dressing, tomatoes, mushrooms, and Golden cheese sauce. Open faced on white, with crumbled potato chips on the cheese sauce. Baked. It was quite popular.

Wilbur ★ Posted September 9, 2021 Share #40 Posted September 9, 2021 My absolute favourite is a BLT. Just a little mayo but it must be buttered not margarine and must have HP sauce, The tomatoes must be 1/4-3/8 inch thick with a little salt and pepper. However, I very rarely eat bread anymore. Maybe 5 times per year.
